Little Owlets in Action

Little Owlets in Action is the Extra Curricular Activities department of Little Owlets that offers various classes for the children and families of Little Owlets, friends, family and anyone else interested to enroll their children. We now offer the "Milenius" program, Capoeira, Art and Russian lessons for various age groups. Please click on the name of the program to learn more.

    Milenius methodology focuses on the harmonious development of a child’s personality thru physical, social and emotional enrichment. Every lesson is planned and structured to guide and advance children to feel and understand their bodies, develop their fine/gross motor skills and coordinate/synchronize movements with sounds. Children learn to recognize and feel the rhythm, develop attention, endurance, strength, elasticity and flexibility, while ascertaining to the sense of time and space. This unique approach to each childfurther promotes the development of speech, physical reflexes and the establishment of a harmony between self and the rest of the world.

    Milenius dates back to the beginning of 1980s. It was founded by Dr. Natalia Milenina-Digmelashvili, PhD in Art Sciences, Choreographer, teacher of dance and Ballettmeister who is currently also a professor at atTbilisi State University of Theater and Cinema. Her methodology was based on various empirical theories and strengthened over the years of experience teaching and working with different age groups. Starting with children 18 months old and interacting with them in a form of play and presence of their caregivers to working with independent 5 year olds to perfect their coordination.

    Over the years, Dr. Natalia observed and recorded the effects and results of this program on children of various ages. Children who participated in Milenius for a few months consecutively, showed positive social and emotional characteristics, such as high self-esteem, pride in personal accomplishments, optimistic thinking, determination, advanced problem solving skills and goal-oriented behavior. In addition, children advanced over their peers in movement coordination and physical education readiness.
